Frequently Asked Questions:

How does the National Water Safety Congress (NWSC) interface with the National Safe Boating Council (NSBC)?

NWSC and NSBC have the same goals…reducing the loss of life, accidents, and personal injury while recreating on and near the water. We are sister organizations partnering in the International Boating and Water Safety Summit (IBWSS).

Is the NWSC a profit motivated organization?

No, in fact, membership in the NWSC may be tax deductible. Funding for the NWSC is obtained from, but not limited to, memberships, donations and United States Coast Guard grants.

Do you provide funding in support of water safety efforts?

Yes, we do fund projects and other organizations through our Boating and Water Safety Grass Roots Grants Programs. Please see our Grass Roots Grants section today!

Do you ever provide training other than at the annual International Boating and Water Safety Summit?

Yes, we do when we can. An organization must request the training, specifying audience, etc., assign a responsible party for class set up materials needed, and provide per diem and travel for a Congress instructor, as well as any additional costs for materials or equipment.

We are currently providing the Personal Watercraft Basic Maintenance, Operation and Rescue Course and the Cold Water Boot Camp USA Cold Water Immersion Survival course on an as requested basis in addition to the Summit.
